John received his Juris Doctorate of Law degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law in Carbondale, Illinois. He received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. He also holds an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science from Florida College in Jacksonville, Florida.

Prior to receiving his law degree and focusing his career in the area of criminal defense, John spent more than 25 years in the corporate sector, specializing in technology and information systems.
